  • Kindly note that we only offer plastic bottles. We do not supply glass bottles. Our bottles have compatible tests with the Philips soda maker.
  • Please do not use glass bottles or bottles from other brands for carbonation with the Philips soda maker due to safety concerns.

Is the Soda Stream’s or Soda Sense’s cylinder compatible with this machine?

  • A Standard Screw-in 60 L Co2 Exchange Carbonator is compatible with this soda maker.

How can this soda maker achieve a great carbonation effect?

To optimize the carbonating water drinking experience, we would give the following advice:

  1. Make sure the water bottle and the cylinder are installed properly;
  2. The water temperature should be below 40 ℉. With the recommended temperature, you can enjoy a better taste;
  3. The carbonating effect will last longer in a sealed bottle. After carbonating, it is better to seal the bottle with a cap.
  4. We would suggest, after finishing making carbonating water, adding some ice cubes to your glass for a better carbonating water experience.

If the carbonation effect is not as expected after doing the above steps, please contact the after-sales service.

Can this soda maker carbonate other liquids?

  • No, this soda maker can not carbonate other liquids to avoid blockage around the spray nozzle. Please carbonate water only.

Should include co2 cartridge. – later addressed by CS

Update 7/11/23 – 4 stars: Customer service proactively reached out to me and helped make this right. I am quite satisfied with the action they took. Also, despite not having much success with the first unit, the replacement unit has been great. I learned that it does not work well to re/carbonate flavored drinks – or at least drinks with a syrup in them as the fizz gets out of control and doesn’t leave much CO2 dissolved in the liquid. Instead, I now use it only to carbonate water and then mix that water into the flavored drink. It dilutes the flavor a bit but with the added carbonation, it tastes pretty good. Also, when using the device, I’m now making sure to press down long enough until I hear the higher pitched squealing noise. Repeat 2-3 times. This takes about 4-5 seconds on the first pump and ~3 seconds on pumps 2 and 3. I wait about 5-10 seconds between pumps. With this technique I can get water more carbonated than I prefer when drinking it directly, which ends up being perfect to mix into non-carbonated flavored drinks.i also just keep the carbonated water in the bottle provided and it seems to last at least a couple days.——————Original Review – 1 star: Ordered quickly and didnt see that it doesn’t include a co2 cartridge. That’s a bad experience. Also makes the unit seem cheaper than it is. Also bad.

    Requested a replacement

Bought this as a gift for my husband. We had trouble with it from the start. It never seemed to give a good shot of carbonation. It took numerous calls and emails to Phillips to get the issue resolved. After six months of dealing with customer service, they finally sent us a replacement. This one works!

Good basic sparkling water maker with strong customer service

When our old Soda Stream finally gave out, we wanted a replacement that accepted standard CO2 bottles.Unfortunately, we quickly had a problem with the unit leaking gas and failing to adequately carbonate the water. After trying several suggested fixes, Philips replaced the unit and the new one is working well. They did a good job of handling this situation.

Better than a soda stream if you can refill your own from a bigger tank at home.

Invest in a tank refill system at home and stop getting ripped off. Replace your soda stream valves with refillable ones and get much more use out of those little tanks. Each of those tanks lasts much longer when charged from a real system. I pay ten bucks to refill a small fire extinguisher sized tank and it seems like it will last at least a year when I would have otherwise spent 30$ a month shipping soda stream bottles back and forth.

Good (not great) while it lasts…and it won’t last long.

I never did quite master the art of pressing the button for just the right amount of time to perfectly carbonate the water. I got this back in April 2024 and went through about a cylinder a month. Tonight, I went to change a cylinder–and the button no longer works. It depresses, but barely anything comes out.I’ve tried multiple new cylinders, made sure there were no blockages, nothing where the cylinder should thread in…I can’t figure out what happened, it just stopped working. Upon searching, I found a handful of other reviews with similar experiences. Maybe folks are right and this is planned obsolescence (designed to break with the fifth refill??), or it’s a fluke, or user error. But nothing touched the button while I was changing the cylinders, so I have no clue what happened. Sucks.

BETTER THAN SODASTREAM OR AARKE; LOWER PRICE IS A BONUS!

I’ve owned all 3 brands (including multiple models of Sodastream), but this is the only one I’ll buy going forward. (In addition to 2 carbonators of my own, I like giving as gifts). The unit is compact & easy to maintain, with a clean, simple aesthetic. Operation is straightforward, easy & repeatable…whatever your preferred level of carbonation. The bottles have slightly greater capacity than those competitors sell, & the caps have a solid & tight fit.The price makes it impossible to go wrong.

    Not much carbonation

I had another brand which grasped the bottle instead of screwing it on, (More hassle). The other unit gave much more carbonation, this unit releases gas under the drip plate, it seems by design? Do not like the lack of ability to have more carbonation.

    Good product!

This is my second time purchasing a soda stream and have to say this one meets my expectations. Material and size is good, it tastes good, water comes out nice and sparkling, the refill tank is still the same one and we use soda stream at least 2/3 times a day. You save so much money versus buying cans of sparking water that cost a fortune at grocery stores! Great value for the money!

    It really works as advertised!!!

I really was not expecting much, my thoughts were if I do not like it I will return it. I followed the instructions to the letter. I press 1,2,3 let go then one more time. It is fantastic!! I noticed that the colder the water the longer the fizz lasts. I kept 2 old bottles of seltzer in one I keep the water to gas and the other for the seltzer I have one dedicated funnel to pour my seltzer in the bottle. Now I have a permanent supply of seltzer!!! Do I recommend it? Each bottle of seltzer cost almost four dollars I think I am almost at breaking even and soon it will be pennies per 2 liters of seltzer. YES I DO RECOMEND YOU BUY IT. You can have a little fizz or a lot of fizz, with no fuzz ( bottle returns) and more fizz for your bucks.

Decided to go with this brand vs the market leader to avoid been limited in CO2 tank brand. This is standard size and mount. It’s all plastic so very lightweight but the sleek design works for us. Overall cost is higher than buying bottles of club soda but it’s nice to have less recycling too.CO2 cartridge is not included.

UPDATE: company sent free unit that works.

UPDATE:The company saw my review and sent me a complimentary unit OVERNIGHT because the one I got was defective. They wanted to make it right. They made it right. I’m impressed and happy to have a free unit. If yours sucks get a replacement. These units are simple, made of plastic and can easily not work well. I also like that the bottle is bigger.OLD REVIEW:This will spritzer water, but it’s not a great seal and waste s a lot of CO2 and the water won’t be fizzle at all. Just flat. Not good. I got this to replace a sodastream that lost the ability to seal. This one has good reviews but for me it’s about 50% as good as the soda stream I would try another. I actually should send it back but I just don’t use it enough to make it worth it.

    Great soda water maker

I just received this yesterday and it was easy to figure out how to set it up and use it. I read directions, ut mainly to know how long to press the button to make my fizzy water. So far I love it since my soda stream died a few days ago. I’m hoping this lasts much longer and the price was appealing also and I didn’t have to buy all new equipment to be shipped.Update: My unit is still working. I did have one instance where water sprayed everywhere, so I have been very careful to not overfill the bottle with water and it hasn’t happened again. We are in the Caribbean, so getting the canisters refilled can be problematic, but we ordered two devices and bits to make it all work, for this or Soda stream. I am going to order another because I know it won’t last forever and someone threw away or walked with one of my bottles! I use this constantly and sometimes fill up 3 times a day, so I do need the bottles.

    Nice system

I started with one of the early home systems about 13 years ago. This one uses the same canisters but *seems* to use more CO2 to get to the level of carbonation I like. (I never tried to measure the CO2 consuned per bottle) The unit is sleek, easy to clean and does not take up too much space on the counter.

Amazing soda water maker that looks beautiful

I am very impressed with the quality of this machine. It looks great in my kitchen with the stainless steel appliances. Was super easy to setup and start using!I used a Ninja Thirsti CO2 tank because it was the only locally available screw-on type canister at my Target store. Fit perfectly, no leaks, and was really pleased at how easy it was to install. The water comes out VERY carbonated with 3 pumps of the button. Make sure you hold it until the gas starts escaping (loud hissing sound which the instructions call a ‘buzz’ sound).Overall would highly recommend this soda water maker over others because of the ease of use, aesthetics, and the quality of the maker. Will update if there’s any issues over time.Update: After a few months of use the white nozzle that goes into the water came loose. This was causing the water to not be carbonated. If you’re having carbonation issues but the CO2 bottle isn’t empty, check the tightness of the white nozzle to make sure the air isn’t escaping at the top of the bottle. Still love this machine and it REALLY fizzes the water up nicely when it’s cold.

    Still a Great Value

I had purchased one of these about a year ago and after making at least 2 1-liter bottles every day, it seemed that seal had slipped so gas was coming out the tube where the bottle screws in as well as going into the bottle. I still got seltzer, but was having to purchase a lot of CO2 refills. When I went looking for a replacement I saw that the same model was on sale so I got it.I had a problem with the first purchase and Norelco replaced it free of charge so I knew I could rely upon them to make my experience good. I’ve had this a couple of months now, it’s working perfectly and with the summer heat I’m up to 3 bottles of seltzer a day. It’s such a relief to not be collecting bottles to return and carrying bottles home from the store with the groceries each week. I’m helping the environment and my budget by using this.

    Actually I give it 4 1/2 stars because….

I have used BOTH of the America’s Test Kitchen Sparkline Water Maker’s recommended for MANY years now. And while Phillips is not “on their list”….. read on. 3 years ago I wore out my “manual” (not electric) Soda Stream brand sparkling water maker and went back to Amazon to replace “like/same” BUT the new model was HORRIBLE – tippy & unusable, I threw it out. I then purchased and still love my AARKE and it is WAY so worth the $ and looks great on my countertop. Back to the Phillips brand – I needed a secondary sparkling water maker, not as heavy duty as the AARKE, but one that would be easily usable and the Phillips is PERFECT FOR THAT USE. I can keep it in the cabinet, easily moving it around when I need it AND it is SO much better than the Soda Stream and priced comparably. Phillips model is NOT tippy. Yes, you need to screw in the bottle, no big deal – it has to be secure to fizz up the water and is not awkward at all, maybe the reviewer who complained just needed to use it a couple more times. I’ve been using this Phillips now for 3 months and would buy it again for the “not as heavy use” when we’re not in our primary home where my AARKE lives. For when I’m not home or for someone who does not go through 5 seltzer bottles/day with my AARKEE, the Phillips is a worth while value for low volume use or for someone with minimal counterspace who needs to keep it in a cabinet.

    A Perfect Solution

I am thrilled with my Philips Sparkling water maker. Its sleek profile, finish, and small footprint perfectly fit with my decor. To use, you turn the product on its side, screw in a gas canister, turn it upright, fill the bottle with cold water (I have a Brio water cooler), screw in the bottle, and push the button twice. The result is a perfect sparkling water for mixing cocktails and sodas. No more wasted club soda bottles and cans for me anymore.

    A abysmal money hole

I got a soda stream 4 months before this. It was alright, but touchy to get right with the amount of carbonation, and you couldnt control it well as it was fixed intervals. When that one suddenly began releasing gas as it pumped. The incredibly cheap design of the plastic appliance was what I thought was the culprit. So I sprung for the beefier design of the Philips that also lets you control the pressure to what you know is good. This one took me a few tries but I got it down perfect and have been living with it for a good 6 months.Until, Lo and behold, The bypass valve, or the seal, or something, has failed on it, and its now evacuating any pressure being built in the bottle, failing the carbonation, And venting that oh so expensive CO2 away like burning money, while I try to fix such a simple machine broken in the exact same way as the dinky sodastream. I have no idea what I’ve done wrong with both of these products to warrant them failing in the same way. They sit on my counter, I use brita filtered water only, I under pump the pressure if anything, so its not overpressure. Its very suspect, that them selling proprietary refill CO2s (Not philips specifically) And proprietary degradable bottles, That they would, perhaps have the gaul to design their machines with a timed obsolescence part. Pretty bold assumption, I know, I just cannot comprehend how such a thing has occurred with two completely different brands and two completely different designs of machine. All in all, I’ve spent an eyewatering amount of money, on simple appliances that proport to save you money, And now have nothing to show for it. So please forgive me if I feel like I’ve been a bit scammed. +

    Works great!

So far I love this thing. Much easier to make my own soda and sparkling water than buying bulky cases at the store. I’ve been using it every day for almost a month and haven’t had to change the canister yet. Only thing I wish was included was a bottle brush to clean the inside of the bottle. It’s difficult to find a brush long enough to reach the inside bottom, and narrow enough to get through the opening.

    3 Months in & I’ve Bought 3 of Them!

3 months in and I’ve bought 3 of them because it’s a simple but effective water carbonator. This is our first sparkling water maker. After one too many trips to Target for more cases of Waterloo, I found the Philips brand carbonator for a solid entry level price and decided to give it a go. I really wanted the lovely Aarke carbonator, but the price was too high for something we weren’t sure we would like. Fortunately, we love the Philips! It’s sleek, stylish, and fairly sturdy considering the plastic build. CO2 cylinders are easy to find at the nearest stores (Wal-Mart, Target, etc). It makes sparkling water easily with one or two pumps of the button. Our first CO2 cylinder lasted a month between two of us using it daily. We’ve since cut back from two pumps to one per bottle, so I expect the CO2 will last longer. Now the big question: Why 3?One for homeOne for workAnd one as a gift to a friend who was really interested in ours

Works but difficult to connect external tank

Had automatic soda stream machine that broke, so I have couple plastic bottles, 2 CO2 canisters, and kit to connect bigger 10 lb CO2 tank to the machine so I don’t need to recharge small ones often and save money. (I recharge the big tank for close to $30, instead of replacing small tanks for $15, but it holds around 10 times as much gas)Bought this unit as it was cheapest and came without the tank – as I don’t need 3rd one. And don’t want to wait for hazard shipping.Four stars because CO2 canisters and soda stream bottles work with this machine.Minus one star because of how hard it is to connect external tank – this machine is designed so you connect the small CO2 tank by inserting it through the bottom and twisting the end of the tank with your finger tips. No space to connect the adapter for external tank. Surely no space to later disconnect the coupling on the adapter. So I needed to take it apart and cut couple holes with the dremel. Now it works great from the external tank.

    good except…

this soda maker replaced my soda stream. it works with ss bottles and cannisters.i’ve had it for a month. it’s taken a while to learn to finesse the injection of gas.it certainly wasted less gas than the soda stream.today, i noticed each time i injected gas, the color of the water got more and more tinged like rust or dilute cola. i don’t use cola or any syrups. is rhe inside of the maker rusting?i tried to contact philips but it appears they only support products that they sell directly. then i realized that the “philips” soda msker that i bought may not be an authorized philips gozero soda maker.

    Way better than a SodaStream

Had a SodaStream Source but one plastic bolt split in two and was nervous it would become a money pit. Intended to get this just to finish out our CO2 canister, but have been blown away by how much better it is. Far bubblier water and canister holds carbonation. We do not find it’s hard to attach the canister to the device. Hoping it continues to do so well!

Replacement for the original soda stream

If you’re looking for a cheaper replacement for your old (original style) soda stream machine, this it. It uses both your original style soda stream drink bottles and the original, screw-on type fizzy tanks. The only differences I’ve found are that the drink bottles screw on instead of just pushing them on like the soda stream machine and it does seem to need more pumps to get the level of fizziness in our drinks than we we needed with the old machine. Also, the carbonator tank is kind of a tight fit in the chamber that you screw it in to, but it works 😊

    It Works

The media could not be loaded.

Phillips made a carbonated water machine that is simple to work, affordable and looks great in my kitchen. I would recommend this product to friends and family.1. Easy to load and clean CO2 container and water bottle2. Great tasting water3. You don’t need batteries or an electrical outlet4. I’ll save money because my sugar-free stevia energy sodas are getting expensive.5. No soda cans and their toxic linings6. Fast shipping and great packagingAdviceI use filtered water that’s been refrigerated. Firmly press down on the CO2 release valve and count to three. I do this twice for the extra fizz.

It gets the job done! It makes soda water. Don’t spend more money! Buy this!

I’ve been wanting a soda maker, and was initially drawn to the real expensive brands because they looked cool or looked like a piece of art. But when you realize how much they’re charging for something that just makes carbonated water…it’s a waste of money. Don’t overspend on this, especially. Bought the Philips soda maker in White and stainless steel, and it looks very minimal against a white tile. It disappears to the eye on the counter. Who wants to see clutter on the kitchen counter?? I don’t. So, I love this purchase, and the price was right. I suggest ordering the CO2 cartridges from an online store. It’s way cheaper than getting them at like Walmart.

    MUCH LARGER THAN I ANTICIPATED

I LIKE TO DRINK CARBONATED WATER WITH FRUIT JUICE ADDED. THIS PRODUCT HAS A VERY LARGE BOTTLE FOR CARBONATING THE WATER AND A TAKES UP A LARGE AMOUNT OF COUNTER SPACE. i NEED TO FIND A SMALLER MODEL THAT IS USEFUL FOR MAKING A CARBONATED DRINK IN A SMALLER QUANTITIY. ALSO THE CO2 CARTRIDGES RECOMMENDED THAT I PURCHASED TO USE WITH THIS PRODUCT ARE NOT RETURNABLE. THE UNIT BY ITSELF IS RETURNABLE, BUT THE CARTIDGES ARE NOT

    Works, not quite like sodastream

If you’re buying for the first time, it’s good for the price, but I highly recommend following instructions/video and have patience. If you’re coming from sodastream, it uses the same bottles and blue CO2. Here’s the difference:- it isn’t push bottle and fizz. The bottle needs to be twisted in (personal gripe)- that fizz button takes a bit to master. I used to be able to push all the way down to fizz. This time, you’ll hear the overfizz superloud. You need to do it in (gentle) increments.- the fizziness of the water doesn’t last long. It could be just my technique (?).Ok for a replacement, has some quirks, but it works.

Tested an entire CO2 60L on this. Works great. Button is easy. I filled 22 sodastream 30oz bottles before the CO2 ran out, and I’m heavy on the carbonation.Suggestions: press button until it farts, then let go. Do this 4 times and it should be ready.Looks great on counter.

Very pleased with this appliance! Highly recommend

I have tried several brands of COMMERCIAL carbonated water but using this appliance tops them ALL!I refuse to buy bottles of water. I have an under-the- sink filter as well as a container in the fridge that I put cut up carbon filters ( one that you would use for an air purifier 😄) . To me this is the most refreshing water and I know it’s good for me too.But with this carbonator I have stepped up my refreshment experience. I add about a dash of my sea salt and a 1/4 dropper full of ionic zinc and 1/4 dropper full of copper with trace minerals ( liquid). These give the water the depth of flavor I crave and adds to my health as well. I looked up the pros and cons of CO2 and the benefits 😁 are just what I FEEL my body craves. As for the cost… I’ve had this same CO2 canister for the last two months and it’s still going…. And I use it at least once but mostly two liters a day with 2 3 seconds pumps. I like mine with lots of 😊 bubbles 😁.I also found out that I can have the canister ( sold separately) refill at my local hardware store for a fraction of the cost of the club.I highly recommend this particular brand only BCS I have it and use it everyday. But I can’t compare to any other brand. The bottle that it comes with is nice and heavy and I put it in the fridge. But it doesn’t keep the bubbles as much as I like so I give it another pump before I serve it in my long stem crystal wine glass. ( makes life more special) I did invest in some smaller glass bottles so I can carbonate some other drinks. But the threads don’t match the machine..so I fill them up from the plastic one and they keep well in the fridge and on the go.I highly recommend this product. Enjoy and BE WELL!

Excellent sparkling water maker – better than SodaStream.

I’ve been a SodaStream user for years (10+). The soda maker started leaking gas, and finally stopped working, so I began looking for a replacement. I liked the stylish look and simplicity of design of this unit so I decided to give it a try.It works flawlessly. Highly recommended.

    Se ve bien

No lo he podido usar, ya que vino sin la botella de CO2 y es difícil de conseguir. Debería venir completa.

Very lightweight and easy to store in the cupboard

Very easy to use, very easy to put the canister inside of it and it takes more carbonation than I thought to get my water where I need it but it does the trick!

    Works great

At first I was concerned with the amount of bubble this would create due to some negative reviews on that.I used for over a year now and I like it. Plenty enough bubbles in the water.I always do 2 push for a 1liter bottle. And that gives me more than enough gas in the water. It is small enough to fit under the counter top cabinets in the kitchen.I also changed the valves on the sodastream tanks to make it very easy to refill. Now I have bubbly water virtually for free.

Large water bottle keeps water fizzy

Water bottle seals very well so even the last bit of water in the fridge is fizzy. Nice and small on the countertop. You can have as little or as much gas as you want. Good price for nice looking unit compared to soda stream options which I have used for decades.

Follow the directions and it’s fool proof

I question the people claiming that this doesn’t carbonate well because it’s essentially just a frame that gives you a button to inject Co2 straight from the canister to the bottle, mechanically it’s about as simple as it gets.We fill the empty bottle with cold water, put it in the fridge, and then carbonate before use with 3 pumps and it’s easily as fizzy as the most carbonated seltzers. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a simple carbonation machine and don’t need flavor gimmicks.

Good … but not as good as the really old sodastream I had

I don’t understand why its not as good as the 15 year old one; but it does work well.I think its going to use more CO2 to get the same result as the old one did. However; I really do like that it uses the same cylinders and bottles as the old one did. That is a real plus !

    Great product

This Philips carbonated water maker works really well. The Sodastream 60L gas bottle fits effortlessly (just make sure you get the gas bottle with the screw top and not the quick connector type). It carbonates the water very quickly and with just the right amount of bubbles. I would definitely recommend this product. It’s also very easy to use.

    No good

It’s physically drm’d you have to buy long bottles, you cannot buy a hose and use a bigger tank. I’d rather make carbonated water with my own floppy ballsack

Beautiful and makes great fizzy water!

Maybe my old namebrand was failing but I don’t think it ever fizzed as well as this one! The only problem is that the bottle neck is 1/8″ too long for sodastream bottles, but add a rubber band and it is perfect.

    Love this machine

This machine works great. The only thing I would say is that it’s important to use cold water from the fridge for more bubbles. Room temperature water does not seem to carbonate as well. Overall super simple to use and no electricity is needed.

Very nice alternative to the more expensive Soda Stream dispensers

I bought this unit as a replacement for a Soda Stream dispenser that was purchased around 10 years ago so I can’t complain about the durability of a unit that lasted that long, but repairability was an issue. A high pressure fitting inside the Soda Stream unit cracked because all the fittings inside are made of plastic. So I started searching for a replacement unit since it was clear I wasn’t going to find replacement parts from Soda Stream. The prices for Soda Stream machines have nearly doubled in the 10 years since I first purchased my unit so I was surprised to see this Philips unit at a reasonable price that also included a bottle. The stainless steel trim and the stainless steel overflow grate on the bottom are very appealing and aren’t fingerprint magnets like my old plastic Soda Stream unit. The included bottle has a stainless base and stainless bottle top for durability and overall it looks very aesthetically appealing in my kitchen. I haven’t opened the unit to see what kind of fittings/plumbing it contains so I can’t forecast its durability or lifespan but I was also pleased to find that this unit accepts all of my old Soda Stream bottles as well as the CO2 canisters. That was important to me because I had invested quite a bit of money in the bottles and caps and I have four CO2 canisters. Carbonation works well so I have no complaints. Definitely worth the cost if you’re looking to replace your Soda Stream machine or looking to make your own sodas and seltzers but don’t want to pay the high prices commanded by Soda Stream.

    Better the second time around

My first purchase didn’t go so well as my Co2 cans were running out fast with barely no use. Determined they were leaking. Thankfully Phillips replaced my purchase and I haven’t had an issue with the replacement

    The product works as advertised.

We like that our Co2 cannisters fit perfectly. Replace a defective poorly designed SodaStream product.

    Love it!

Used to have the original brand. That was a pain for me to line it up correctly and oftentimes failed so I went without. This one is WAY better and much easier to hook up. Plus it’s very streamlined and attractive.

    Pretty dang good

No real complaints. It does as shown without any issue. I like how compact it is. And that it doesn’t require an outlet. Only thing it could improve on is the carbonation. Don’t get me wrong, it carbonates just fine, it could just do with a little more fizziness.

    It Works. However…

I purchased this to replace my 2 year old Soda Stream. It stopped working and I have become used to it. I didn’t want Sodasteam’s new quick connection bottles, since 8 have 3 of the older 5yoe. The Phillips allows me to still utilize all the bottles and cartridges I already have. Now my big negative of the Phillips is it 7ses more CO2 for not nearly the highest carbonation. It takes at least 4 good pumps that took only hitting the triple dose button on my defunct Sodastream.
